I created this piece at Chateau Bouthonvilliers in the French country side at the Atelier artists residency.

Inspired by stained glass, rain, and the natural landscape of the French countryside.

This piece was intentionally left in the rain to wash off the first layer of paint. This was a practice of letting go of perfection and letting nature take its course. Remnants of earth left from the ground and the rain compliment the deep tones of the background coupled with bold red which is a signature in my work. A piece about starting new, shedding old skin and rebirth.
